Adding one more thing, tell people you love them, life is uncertain and one day it may be too late!

The Book
Tom, another great article. My wife still has the book and has a poster in our bedroom that has the keys to success from the book.
Everything I needed to know...
Look for the good in everything, even the worst tragedy, trauma, and disaster. There is always something hidden in all the pain and turmoil...kind words, a helping hand, an opportunity, a new person who comes into your life. It doesn't mean that the pain isn't real. It means that it never is ALL pain. It is amazing how beautiful life can be when you look for goodness everywhere, no matter what is going on.
LOOK
My painting class begins tomorrow. If I’m being honest, I enjoyed my 0-18 years more than any other period in 68 years. Why? Simplicity.
Everything I need to Know I learned in Kindergarten
While I agree with all that you said, my concern is that we ( I include myself in this) forget that life can be simple. We get distracted by bills, jobs and all the other things that adult life throws at us. I have to continually remind myself that life is good. I have a good job, not perfect but good, my health isn't perfect, but it's ok. I have a roof over my head, food to eat, I'm not getting rich, but I have money for the things I need. Life isn't perfect, I may not have everything I want, but I have everything I need. and I am grateful for that.
Helping
Another simple rule: Help someone whenever you can.
This doesnt need to be a huge rescue, expense, life change. Simply help when you can.
Yes!! Today I found $11 in a parking lot at the Walgreens. There were no other cars around. I was going to keep it because the person who dropped it probably didn't even realize it. I took it back into the store and gave it to the cashier. The person that dropped that cash probably really needs it. Hope they got it back. Tom
All the things you just mentioned are why my favorite kids are 5 and under. They help you see the world in a new positive light every minute. They take you back to the wonders of the world and new discoveries, and a new way to look at the wonderful things in the world if you will let them.
A child's outlook on the world is majorly set by 3. So many do not realize that sympathy, empathy, loving, kindness, respect, confidence, etc. are heavily set at such a young age and treat this young child look they do not know much. With good guidance they can teach us so much and carry it on into adulthood.
Warm cookies and milk
I think all of Washington could use them

Tom, I remember that wonderful book! It reminds me of what I am doing right now. Camp Wekiva in Apopka, FL is a garden club built and run environmental camp that is open for 6 weeks in the summer. Seven of my 9 grandchildren attend this camp and love it. No phones or electronics just pure sensory. Swimming, nature, crafts, community building. I am volunteering there for two weeks. Getting ready to begin my second week. It is a miracle transformation for so many of these children and a wonder to behold! Thank you for reminding me!
