Look for the good in everything, even the worst tragedy, trauma, and disaster. There is always something hidden in all the pain and turmoil...kind words, a helping hand, an opportunity, a new person who comes into your life. It doesn't mean that the pain isn't real. It means that it never is ALL pain. It is amazing how beautiful life can be when you look for goodness everywhere, no matter what is going on.

My painting class begins tomorrow. If I’m being honest, I enjoyed my 0-18 years more than any other period in 68 years. Why? Simplicity.

While I agree with all that you said, my concern is that we ( I include myself in this) forget that life can be simple. We get distracted by bills, jobs and all the other things that adult life throws at us. I have to continually remind myself that life is good. I have a good job, not perfect but good, my health isn't perfect, but it's ok. I have a roof over my head, food to eat, I'm not getting rich, but I have money for the things I need. Life isn't perfect, I may not have everything I want, but I have everything I need. and I am grateful for that.

Another simple rule: Help someone whenever you can.

This doesnt need to be a huge rescue, expense, life change. Simply help when you can.

A child's outlook on the world is majorly set by 3. So many do not realize that sympathy, empathy, loving, kindness, respect, confidence, etc. are heavily set at such a young age and treat this young child look they do not know much. With good guidance they can teach us so much and carry it on into adulthood.

I think all of Washington could use them
